Wicks on NorthWest Cable News Morning Show

Seattle, WA (August 9, 2001) - Russ Wicks, American Challenge pilot, was a guest on the NBC affiliate owned NorthWest Cable News Morning Show this morning at 7:30.   The show is hosted by Emmy award winning anchor couple Meg Coyle and Michael King.   Russ discussed the plans for the team's quest to break the world water speed record, and also unveiled a concept model of the American Challenge craft.   www.nwcn.com

Several Northwest area technology companies are partners of American Challenge, including Analytical Methods, Inc. (AMI), SuperGraphics, a division of GM Nameplate, InfoSpace, Marine Hardware, and Uflex USA.

About Russ Wicks:
American and Seattle native Russ Wicks is the pilot for the American Challenge craft.   On June 15, 2000, Wicks became the fastest man on water in a propeller-driven boat while racing across Lake Washington in an Unlimited Hydroplane.   The event received extensive media attention including coverage by ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX Sports as well as a 30-minute documentary featured on ESPN’s Speed World.

About American Challenge:
Seattle Based American Challenge, Inc. (ACI) is a consortium of aerospace engineers, technical partners, and motor-sport professionals.   ACI’s Technical Staff and Technical Advisory Board represent substantial, collective experience that covers the fields of:   Fluid Dynamics, Structures, Stability and Control, Propulsion, Systems Simulation, Materials, Manufacturing, Test and Validation, Safety and Speed Record Operations.   ACI is currently in the preliminary design stages of a craft that will be built specifically for the record attempt.
