Cimtech assisted in the development of a 3D CAD model of the craft by using a laser scanner to "reverse engineer" an existing scale model. The CAD model created was used for animation projects, design analysis, and eventually manufacturing.

Cimtech provides laser scanning and digitizing services for a variety of reverse engineering applications, from product visualization to 3d modeling for manufacturing. For smaller 3D objects Cimtech automates the scanning process, creating an STL file type for further editing or machining.
