ACI TEAM MEMBER, BRIAN TOWEY, RETURNS TO COCKPIT
Competes in Mazdaspeed Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Tires at PIR
PORTLAND, June 12, 2003 - American Challenge, Inc. (ACI) team member Brian Towey, who made his return to competitive motorsports this year after a 15-year absence, has been granted a waiver to compete in the support race during the Portland 200 CART weekend at Portland International Raceway.
Brian has been around motorsports most of his life and has competed in Renault Cup, Formula Ford, Sports 2000, Endurance Racing, Pro Rally Cars, Skiing and Cycling. Spec Miata is the fastest growing auto racing series in the country, and is the most competitive in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing.
Towey was instrumental in the success of Russ Wicks' previous World Speed Record and is committed to ACI's effort to break the World Water Speed Record. He has managed ACI's communications since the inception, and continues to provide support. Occasionally Brian's zealous personality stirs up as much controversy as he averts.
"This is a development year, but the car has shown some speed, so I'm going to jump in right now and get some extra experience", said Towey. "This is also a good opportunity to have Russ watch from the sidelines wondering if I'm going to bring the car back in one piece, for a change".
